The Concept
While you can skip directly to the config files, I do recommend reading through this page to allow me to share my philosophies.
The setup I'm going to introduce allows you to host unlimited websites from a single server. Each request to your server will be pointed to a Træfik reverse proxy, which routes the request to the right Docker container.
You are free to extend with additional images and compose-setups, but I will serve what is needed to host CI/CD Laravel apps and WordPress sites. I will also help you setup databases, mail and other cool utilities such as GDPR compliant analytics.
It's a fully working setup which powers this site and more from the same server. While you in theory can use the cheapest server available, it would probably throttle too often and I recommend something with at least 4 GB memory and 2 CPU cores. At DigitalOcean this is about $20 per month to get you started with not necessary extra fees.
If you are new to containers or Docker, I will dig deeper into that in feature page. Concepts should be understood as a whole.
